At last I have a new Computer. I now have Windows 7. What a learning curve.
I sometimes miss my Windows XP. Te new program has a lot of bells and whistles, I personally can do without. But it was fun trying to learn the system and rebuild my information. (Some things were missing)
Now, I just need to get caught up on things. Please be patient, it will happen

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday.
Ours was quite. We did hear from some friends in Chicago and they are doing well.
I've spent the Holiday catching up on some things. I've finally finished entering on the website Mill Hill Seed Beads. They are all listed for you. I will try next weekend to add the Mill Hill Antique Beads.

I just love all the ornaments that customers have been working on. There have been so many different ways of finishing these ornaments.
I am still working on some ornaments to add to the shop tree. This will be a display all year round. I will be putting tags on them so you will be able to see what designer they came from. Hopefully some day we will have the tree filled up. Stop in when you can and you can some some different finishings on these ornaments.

Our next class is the Six Hem Stitch. The class is August 7th. The ladies are already doing some prestitching for this class. We will be going over the six different Hem Stitches and stitching one over on. I'm so looking forward to teaching this class. I know the ladies are looking forward to learning the stitches.

I've finished stitching my project from Stitching Under the Oaks. I've contacted Janice Lancaster to do the finishing. For those of you who are not familiar with Janice, she does a wonderful job on finishing. She does pillows, standups, ornaments, bell pulls, etc. Her lead time at this time of year is approximately 2 weeks. As we get closer to the Holidays this will change. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more.
As soon as I receive my piece, I will take a picture and add it to the website for everyone to see.

I have finally recuperated from my weekend at Stitching Under the Oaks. Thea was a delight to learn from. Hopefully, we will have her back in the future.
We have so much fun at these retreats, Next year, we will have a project from Meg Shinall. Can't wait to meet her. I've heard so mush about her classes.
Everytime I attend, I learn or pick up some new technique.

Most of you know that I attend a retreat every year in Fruitland Park, FL. This year our instructor is Thea Dueck from Victoria Sampler. I can't wait to meet her. I always enjoy her designs and am looking forward to learn some new techniques that I can pass on to you.
The shop will be closed Friday June 4th and Saturday June 6th. I will reopen shop on Tuesday, June 8th. Feel free to come in and see the project we will be working on at the retreat. Several of us are working on the prestitching at this time.

Some of the Gals are now starting to do the cutting. Yes they are nervous but doing well. My piece is almost ready for framing. I still need to put the beads on. Right now it is hanging on the wall in the shop.
More Customers are showing an interest in Hardanger and I have mentioned in the newsletter that you are welcome to come in on Friday's and I will help you. I'm also looking at some other designs that will be good for a class. So keep you eyes open.

The group is doing well. We are almost ready to start the cutting to do the Hardanger Parts. One problem some have had, which I have explained to them right from the beginning, You cannot turn your fabric and cross stitch the floral design on the side. You X's will not go in the same direction. It is very important to make all your X's in the same direction on any cross stitch pattern. When you turn your fabric, (unless you turn it upsidedown, your stitches will be going in another direction and it is noticable.
Anyone working on pieces like the Emie Bishops, please be careful.
