To figure out the fabric size: Take the amount of sitches and divide by 14 for 14Ct or 28 Ct. for 16 Ct and 32Ct divide by 16, etc. That gives you the design size. For framing, add 6" . Example: Let's say the design is 56 stitches by 84 stitches. 56 divided by 14=4" and 84 divided by 14=6". Add 6" = 10" x 12" inch piece of fabric.
Hope this helps you. This is the standard used throughout the industry.

I see a great many beautiful items to stitch, but no finished sizes listed. How do I know what the completed project will be, or how much fabric I'll need to complete the project. This is a site I'd like to return to again and again.

I would like to see the Mary Wigham sampler. My chapter is doing it, and I am interested.

Pamela, I am planning on bringing in more counted canvas projects. I am very familiar with Nordic Needle and do purchase from them. One of our local gals, visited Nordic Needle last Summer and enjoyed every minute of it. Would love to meet you.
I left Chicago 7-1/2 years now and have never really gone back. I don't blame you wanting to leave the cold weather. Good Luck

I just visited Fl in your area and hope to very soon move there from sunny but cold -20 ND. I am a needleworker, mostly needlepoint and knitting. I found your shop listed on DeDe's website and was excited to find a shop in the area I have looking at. Do you indeed carry needlepoint?? I am a former shop owner here, and have most of my inventory as I thought I would have enough to last a lifetime, ha, I don't think I will use it all up plus I am constantly looking for new things. I also handpainted and finish needlepoint items. Now you wouldn't think I would need anymore but hey it's in the blood. If you are avid cross stitchers have you heard of the Nordic Needle here in Fargo, they are major suppliers around the world for cross stitcher and hardanger, a beautiful Norwegian type of counted embroidery. Check their website www.nordicneedle.com. They ship all over the world. Hope to visit your shop very soon. Thanks
